Hello! My name is Drew Butler and I’m a wedding and elopement photographer based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. You might be wondering why the photographs in this blog are from Banff and not Ottawa. Well, I currently (September 2022) reside in Banff, Alberta but I’ll be moving to Ottawa in the new year with my fiancé Alanna and 2-year-old son River!

As weddings and elopements book well in advance I figured I’d blog some of my favourite photoshoots to show the Ottawa/Ontario market what I’m all about! I’ll start things off with an elopement I photographed earlier in the summer. 

This outdoor elopement took place at the beautiful Baker Creek Resort along the historic highway 1A in Banff National Park. The couple eloped by the creek with only the officiant and two witnesses (one being me) around. 

This couple from Arizona was super nice and easy to work with. It was a quick 2 hour photoshoot. Sometimes 2 hours is all you need! We decided to do two 45 minute portrait sessions. The first portrait session was before the ceremony at Baker Creek. Then after the ceremony we went for a drive along the 1A to take some portraits in a few scenic locations.
